The Suffrage Coalition that prepared the Burn Memorial unveiling June 9th, 2018 has also led the effort to have August 18 declared Febb Burn Day. The final battle for women’s right to vote took place here in Tennessee and might well have been lost but for Febb Burn who persuaded her young son and legislator to change his vote, break the tie and enfranchise 27 million women.
That historic vote was on August 18, 1920. From now on we will honor her actions in getting her son to do the “right thing”. Both the House and the Senate gave unanimous approval to the resolution. Keep updated – visit us at Facebook.
