East Tennessee PBS, in conjunction with American Experience’s THE VOTE celebrates the centennial of the passage of the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, in which women won the right to vote. Wanda G. Sobieski of the Suffrage Coalition discusses the history of Tennessee’s vote to ratify the 19th Amendment, Harry Burn and the influence of Phoebe Ensminger Burn on, not only her son, but the 72 years of suffrage struggle.
